BlogHer and McDonalds succeeded in pulling out all the stops this year for the BlogHer15 Closing Party at Pier 84 in NYC.
Following the BlogHer15: Expert Among Us Conference on Friday where actress Gwyneth Paltrow spoke candidly about overcoming her own personal woes in her life off screen, they took it a step further with an outdoor concert overlooking the Hudson River. The closing night affair featured a special performance by legendary R&B group Boyz II Men, special DJ set by America’s Got Talent’s Nick Cannon on the ones-and-twos, and an unlimited supply of McDonald’s French fries all night.
Where bloggers and their families meet, event goers came out Saturday evening to the West Side Highway at Pier 84 for quite a treat. The words “I’m lovin it” wasn’t only the theme for the night, but can also describe the sentiments of every guest walking onto the pier with the Intrepid alongside, drink stations placed carefully throughout the space with SVEDKA vodka flavors, a stage line-up ready, and hmmm some McDonald’s favorites: Oreo Frappes, those famous French fries, Happy Meals, and of course, if you’re feeling guilty, salads too.
Multi-Award winning, iconic R&B group Boyz II Men harmonically bestowed four of their best hits for an excited crowd of undeniable fans with back-to-back classics, On Bending Knee, I’ll Make Love To You, End of the Road, and another favorite Motown Philly. And the momentum didn’t stop there, as DJ Spider kept the energy going with most folks up on their feet dancing before the stage. In the middle of what could have easily been mistaken for a pretty awesome looking flash mob, another amazing DJ set was set off by actor/comedian/man with many titles Nick Cannon, to help garnish the rest of the party with some more classics. The BlogHer15 Closing event was as cool as the night. Can’t wait to see what they will have next year.
