Year after year Karma International paints the town red with their annual Kandy Halloween party. This year was no different and The Knockturnal HAD to be there to experience the madness.
The spooky turn up was held at a Tudor style mansion inside a Woodland Hills gated community. A little bit of a trek compared to last years Hollywood venue but we’re woke to the insane parties Karma is known to throw so we knew it would be worth it. Besides who doesn’t love a secret party location only accessible via shuttle from a drop off/ pick up point?
Guests were hinted with a “Return of The Haunted Mansion” theme idea but surely no one really knew what they were in for. Upon drop off you were immediately greeted by a grandiose set of stairs illuminated by fire columns on each side. Everything from the tombstones on the front yard, the color projectors on the facade of the mansion, to the fog taking over the ambiance was perfectly set up for a Haunted Mansion vibe.
Once entering the actual house you couldn’t help but notice how completely messed up it was. Messed up but in the spookiest craziest way imaginable. You weren’t sure whether or not people had been murdered. I’m talking about blood on the walls, the roof, the floor, everywhere! They committed so much to the theme that even the indoor bathroom was actually terrifying and made to look as if there had been a nuclear bomb if you know what I mean.
While some things genuinely left me wondering, I was definitely impressed with the dedication and level of the whole production. As a Halloween junkie I was living for it all. Continuing my way through the mansion and making my way past the living room with the stripper pole I found myself out in the backyard. A congregation of people who went all out with their costumes. I appreciate people who don’t think they’re too cool to dress up. It’s Halloween after all and it’s all for good fun.
The tennis court area was transformed into a tented dance floor with a mini EDC type stage. There were VIP bottle service tables all over for special guests. The music was lit thanks to the DJ’s of the evening Brody Jenner x Devin Lucien, DJ ClaenSlate, DJ Pravin Shaw, and Eva Kane. Of course, you already know the booze was flowing. Open bar all night long meant guests were having a great time. Kandy Halloween never disappoints and always exceeds my expectations!
