On June 3, TheKnockturnal was invited to the special launch of Ebay’s latest invention.
It is a simple new way to clean out your closet. The event took place at one of the trendiest new venues in the city, the New York Edition Hotel. As we waited for the elevator to take us to the penthouse we were extra excited to meet Ebay representatives and Garance Dore who was hosting the event. The room was bright with breathtaking views of the city. Cocktails and canapes were passed around and you could tell that attendees were fashionistas who probably have closets full of stuff they never wore. That is why Ebay introduced Ebay Valet!
Vincent Payen, head of consumer selling for Ebay reminded us that they were the ones to invent online selling. Even though it has been a while some people are still resilient to it. That is why they invented another form of selling online where you hardly need to do anything. As Garance Dore mentioned, and some of us can identify with her, she had plenty of pieces that were expensive but she was not going to wear them again. So this is how it works.
