TheKnockturnal had the opportunity to check out Hermitude at the Governor’s Ball on Sunday June 7 complements of sponsor Samsung.
They are an electronic duo consisting of Angus Stuart (aka El Gusto) and Luke Dubber (aka Luke Dubs) originating from Australia, who performed on the Gotham Stage. They greeted the crowd with a lot of energy and kicked things off with their electronic remix of The Token’s “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.” Fans started to sing the chorus as the duo prepared to drop an intense bass. Once that happened, attendees started to cheer, wave and dance. Their set continued with a remix of “I Just Want To Dance With You.” The duo then decided to spin their newest material from their recently released album Dark Night Sweet Light, which debuted at number one in Australia. Some of the selections that they performed were “Searchlight,” as well as “The Buzz,” which is our favorite.
Next up, they played a fan favorite “Get in my Life.” One of their final songs was their hit “Through the Roof.”
Throughout the festival weekend, festival goers visited the Samsung Galaxy Experience to get a first look at Samsung’s latest products, including the Samsung Galaxy S 6 and Galaxy S 6 edge. Samsung owners were able to use their devices as a VIP credential to exclusive access to the Samsung Galaxy Owner’s Lounge, festival merchandise, food vouchers and more.
