Active wear for all by everyone’s favorite sportswear brand.
For the past few years there have been quite a hype regarding active wear. With more and more people around the world –celebrity and us regular folk –becoming increasingly interested and/or obsessed with being active, sportswear companies have upped-the-ante with their innovations. That especially includes sportswear big wig Nike, everyone’s go to guy for their daily sport’s needs.
Nike being Nike did something pretty amazing recently, by creating and releasing Nike Women’s Elite Basketball collection in New York City. This is the FIRST time that they’ve created basketball apparel for women, designed by women. Talk about supporting gender equality, but that’s a conversation for another time.
At the unveiling event some of the top female high school basketball players throughout NYC attended and heard about the innovation and inspiration for the product first-hand from Nike Senior Product Manager Jay Caba and then participated in a Q&A with WNBA stars Elena Delle Donne, Sue Bird, Jewell Loyd, and Chiney Ogwumike –moderated by basketball legend Sheryl Swoopes. Also in attendance were premier players including Skylar Diggins who had this to say when asked about the product:
“This is giving us what we want and need. I have been waiting for this forever.”
The attendees also had a bit of fun in an on-court workout led by Nike Master Trainer (and former professional basketball player) Holly Rollinger.
The four-piece collection includes:
- Nike hyper elite woman’s basketball hoodie –for on-court performance
- Nike elite cuff women’s basketball pant –for ease and comfort
- Nike elite women’s basketball sort –for optimal mobility and lightweight comfort
- Nike elite women’s basketball tank –for lightweight breathability and mobility
and became available on September 28 at Nike.com and select retailers. So for you movers and shakers out there, Nike has you covered –literally.
