Canadian designer Nick Graham brings nature to New York Fashion Week Men’s and celebrates the 100th anniversary of the National Parks during his presentation this Wednesday February 3, at Skylight Clarkson North.

Deep shades of blue, green, and burgundy, all set the fall vibe this season. Slim- tailored 3 piece suits, waistcoats, and vest, each have their own personality resembling that of the outdoors. Patterns intermix, a striped button up with camouflage tie, and a plaid suit with a polk-a-dot tie are put together and well accessories to match the feel of the nature. Reoccurring uses of plaid and florals really added a lot of personality to the suits and speak to the outdoorsy male.

There is a masculine feel to this collection you see many of the men portraying animals  in their natural habitat with feathered accessories in their suites. Mountain landscapes and wilderness all played a inspirational role in this collection and for that reason The collection also is introducing “Climate Couture” outerwear in modern silhouettes. This collection brings us into the wilderness in style.

Hair and Makeup: Jon Reyman, Aveda

Eyewear: Woodzee Eyewear

Footwear: Thursday Boot Company

Hats: Chris March and Nick Graham

Q: What was your inspiration for this collection

A: “This collection started out as ‘Men in their Natural Habitat’ and it evolved to National Parks. Each outfit is named after a National park in the United States, and it also happens to be the 100th birthday of the national parks. We contacted the national parks two weeks ago letting them know we were doing this collection, and we actually have rangers here from the national parks and if anyone has any questions about the national parks they can be informed.”

Q: How are you speaking to your customer, what do you want them to get into this fall season?

A: “What we are really selling is the suiting, the colors, deep colors of the blues, the greens, the burgundies. Were coordinating the checks with plaid, and checks with dots, and trying to get people to open up a little more. This is all very traditional menswear. You don’t have to wear the whole 3 piece suit in plaid, maybe just the jacket and black pants. You can mix it together that way.”
