This year’s Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival, which took place between October 15th- October 19th, officially concluded with FoodieCon on Sunday (October 19th). FoodieCon took place at Invesco QQQ Festival Campus at South Street Seaport’s Pier 17.
Attendees at FoodieCon got the chance to try food samples from many different chefs and restaurant establishment’s including Misha Levin’s Bareburger Bare Ribwich, Morris Salerno’s Veal Roulade from New York Beef Council, German Rizzo’s Spaghetti con Pecorino e Tartufo Nero via Pasta Rummo, Janice de Castro’s Sinigang Chicken & Pandan Waffles, cotton candy from Fluffy’s NYC, and more. Attendees also got to create their own cocktails via Modelo, Jameson Irish Whiskey, and Sutter Home.

Aside from the food offerings, the event included several panel discussions and cocktail-creating demonstrations. “From Content to Commerce: Selling the Dreamβ with Jesha Stevens, The_Pasta Queen, and Alissa Nguyen, which was moderated by Michael Symon, was the first panel discussion of the day. The panelist discussed taking their talents beyond social media and how they launched their own product lines. The next panel to follow was βSocial Strategy that CLICKSβ with Zach, Alissa Nguyen, Brian Can’t Stop Eating, The Joe Must Go On_. which was moderated by Maneet Chauhan. That talk focused on tips and strategies to utilize to grow a social media following through creating food content. βThe Ultimate Pitch: Foodie Editionβ with Alissa Nguyen, Tyler Growth Life, Karissa Dumbacher, AshYi, Flavors by Alessandra, Brian Can’t Stop Eating, moderated by Jeff Mauro, followed, which included the panelists pitching restaurant and food product ideas. βThe Digital Diss: Dealing With Haters Onlineβ with The Golden Balance, OliviaTied, Tyler Growth Life moderated by: Elena Besser provided insight on how to deal with online negativity and things wrapped up with βGrab Bag Challengeβ with Vegan Bunny Elle, Preppy Kitchen, The Joe Must Go On_, Flavors by Alessandra, The Golden Balance, AshYi which was moderated by Alex Guarnaschelli. During the Grab Bag Challenge, cooks were tasked with cooking up a unique dish using just a few mystery ingredients, a cutting board, and a knife.
During the Creators’ Corner, Preppy Kitchen, and Tyler Growth Life shook things up behind the bar, OliviaTied, Vegan Bunny Elle, Chefτin with Zach, Preppy Kitchen discussed creating cookbooks from their recipes, and AshYi, Jesha Stevens, Flavors by Alessandra, Karissa Dumbacher discussed how to turn 10 minute long video clips into shorter ones for easier sharing on platforms like Instagram.
