I’m excited to share that today, Netflix released Rebel Moon – Songs of the Rebellion EP – the official “inspired by” companion record for the upcoming movie Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver from legendary director Zack Snyder.
Rebel Moon – Songs of the Rebellion album launch event was at the Knockdown Center in Queens, NY.
Hollywood stars, Grammy Award-winning artists and viral TikTok influencers braved the stormy New York weather to immerse themselves into the world of Rebel Moon’s Veldt. Netflix hosted the EP launch party for the upcoming release of Rebel Moon – Songs of the Rebellion, the official “inspired by” companion record for Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver. The event at the Knockdown Center in NYC was attended by the movie’s legendary filmmaker Zack Snyder and cast including Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Michiel Huisman, Ed Skrein and Staz Nair.
I was alongside the cast and featured artists and immersed in the world of Rebel Moon Rebel Moon the five-track record features a diverse, global slate of immensely talented artists – known to be rebels themselves – including Jessie Reyez, Tainy, Tokischa, TOKiMONSTA, aespa, Black Coffee and Kordhell.
All of the music on Rebel Moon – Songs of the Rebellion are original tracks that the artists wrote specifically for the film, and each song is paired with a lead character who inspired the respective track. The EP is set released today on all DSPs.
I was given access the VIP viewing area to experience the show and also invited to explore the exclusive Rebel Moon photography gallery by Zack Snyder. The images and installations were showcasing dynamic behind-the-scenes images of the cast. The immersive experience also encompassed a life-like costume exhibit with authentic looks from each installment of the Rebel Moon film series.
Each of the original songs featured on Rebel Moon: Songs of the Rebellion were inspired by lead characters from the film. In addition to Black Coffee, Jessie Reyez and TOKiMONSTA, the record features a diverse, global slate of artists including K-pop giants aespa, Latin hitmakers Tokischa and Tainy, and pioneering DJ Kordhell.

To me ‘Child of Fire’ means becoming yourself without docility. It means being born with an affinity to heights and speed and risk. It means a smile the second you sense a challenge. It means thirst for glory, because peaceful waters would never suffice.

The beauty of this project was being able to connect with a specific character and relay their story through sound. Very excited to be a part of this one alongside Netflix and the full Rebel Moon Team.

I aimed to create a piece that not only complements the visual spectacle but also adds another layer to the storytelling. Inspired by the movie’s themes, I incorporated a mix of dark, brooding tones with moments of intense uplift. The idea was to reflect the film’s range of moods, specifically the insanity of the battle scenes.

Some other highlights of the night were Viral TikTok star Alex Consani spotted at the event donned in a warrior-chic metallic number. Jessie Reyez’ track “Child of Fire” was amazing and took inspiration from the film’s protagonist Kora – played by Sofia Boutella – who introduced Jessie before her performance. The Rebel Moon cast surprised Sofia with an impromptu “Happy Birthday” serenaded and cake on stage, with the whole joining in.
