NaturallyCurly Presents Texture On The Runway 2017

Sally Beauty kicked off NY Fashion week on Broadway at Gotham Hall with an explosion of texture.

Sally Beauty brought all the puffs, braids, knots, and locKs they could find, along with all the products to treat and control them! But instead of this fashion show revolving around clothing, it was all about healthy textured hair and the outfits they invoked!

Naturally Curly and Sally Beauty partnered with the most successful influencers, and hair care lines such as Creme of Nature, Cantu, Carol’s Daughter, and Shea Moisture to let texture slay the runway. A performance by the Syncopated Ladies opened the show, and Cantu followed with a twin themed presentation. Social media stars Lil Twin represented the men’s hair care line. One twin sported cornrows in a shirtless three-piece grey suit. While his brother rocked an Afro, a black leather motorcycle jacket, a white tee, and green and white pants. Following the twins, were the pint sized McClure twins. One was wearing a twist out while the other wore cornrows with beads in her hair. Shea moisture models were dressed in all white so we could focus on their head-turning braids. These models had the more extravagant hairstyles. Designer/styles Delacruz and Cream Of Nature kept it very simple. The models all wore styled Afros, with colorful animal prints, sundresses, rompers, and high waisted skirts for a very fun flirty theme.

Carol’s Daughter stole the show with Beyoncé’s very own Ty Hunter! He really knew how to break the rules in such a unique way. None of his models resembled one another; each girl had a completely different look. He had a model with a twist out and a jean dress. A model with a huge Afro and a mini dress made out of yarn. A girl with long straight yaki hair in a labor day- carnival costume, a pregnant woman with one long side ponytail and braids wearing a two-piece and a girl with very long box braids and a camo dashiki shirtdress.

Overall this was an exhilarating event that had top-notch drinks, and a gift bag with over 14 full sized name brand beauty products.
