The hilarious Portokalos family is back at it again in this sequel, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2. Like the first movie, the theme of love, family and weddings are very prevalent in this family’s perception of Greek culture. However, Toula and Ian are now navigating their married life and relationship that proves to be difficult for the couple. Toula struggles with finding the balance between helping and supporting her family as well as finding that spark in her marriage and keeping it alive. She also finds herself struggling with her teenage daughter growing up and leaving home to study at a university far away from her family.

Amid all of Toula’s personal obstacles, a family secret surfaces in her father’s quest to determine the source of his lineage, and the whole family is thrown for a ride. Surprisingly, the theme of marriage did not involve Toula’s daughter, like many expected of the sequel, but involves another family member who throws the whole family for a ride. The theme of love is so strong in this movie that it overshadows many of the comedic elements and laughs that the movie presents. Toula learns that family always comes first and but giving yourself personal space as well as time is also an important factor to keep her life in balance.

The film is a great example of unconditional love as well as the importance of family. The movie is suitable for all ages as love knows no bounds. The film will be in theaters March 25, 2016 everywhere.
