Quavo speaks on his latest role as Guy Miller in Trioscope’s new action film Takeover, releasing this Friday.
Directed by Grzegorz Jonkajtys and co-written by Jeb Stuart and Brandon Easton, Takeover stars Quavo, Billy Zane, Serayah, LaMonica Garrett and Martin Seismeier. Recently released from prison, Guy Miller gives up his old life to focus on family, when chaos strikes. Over the course of 24 hours in Atlanta, Guy comes face to face with his past in order to secure his future. On the surface this film spotlights Atlanta’s burgeoning takeover scene, but at its core Takeover celebrates family.

During an interview with The Knockturnal, Quavo compares his role to his reality, “this film in a way mirrors my life,” says the star. From local fame to losing a loved one, the similarities between Quavo and Guy Miller are uncanny. Quavo also discusses his most challenging scenes, preparing for set versus the studio and how one of his favorite scenes includes his late nephew/ groupmate Takeoff.
Many fans speculate that Takeover features Takeoff’s last on-screen performance, but Quavo clarifies, “we also shot more stuff, we’ve still got more Takeoff on film so that wont be the last time you see Takeoff,” when asked about honoring his legacy through this film. While Quavo has previously stated that Takeoff has hundreds of unreleased records, this exclusive highlights that Takeoff has more visuals on the way. Not only that, Quavo also revealed that his upcoming collaborative album with Pharell is dropping soon.
