This Sunday evening we finished World Pride 2019 with a closing ceremony party hosted by MTV, VH1 and World Pride NYC.
The post-parade party was held in the exclusive MTV studios venue, home of shows like TRL, enveloped by bright flashing led panels showcasing neon pride colors. Food included a custom DIY dessert bar with jars of colorful M&Ms and Skittles, accompanied by hors d’oeuvres sized treats like mini cheeseburgers and mushroom risotto bites. Two open bars kept party-goers refreshed after week-long Pride activities in the New York summer heat.
Iconic drag queen and DJ, Lady Bunny, headlined the music for the night while recent contestants of RuPaul’s Drag Race Queens Alexis Michelle (Season 9), Ariel Versace (Season 11), Peppermint (Season 9), Scarlet Envy(Season 11), and Dusty Ray Bottoms (Season 10) mingled and enjoyed drinks amongst the crowd. Midway through the event, queens Ariel Versace and Scarlet Envy lip-synced on the dance floor accompanied by fans to popular anthems like Ariana Grande’s “Into You.” Guests also had the opportunity to take Live Photo streams with props projected throughout the venue. To commemorate the event, World Pride branded merchandise and treats were given as souvenirs as guests left the party.
