International Women’s Day is being celebrated from coast to coast. This year Moët Hennessy hosted a special night to toast the holiday, as well as the pioneering women in the wine industry.
Invited guests gathered for an intimate dinner tasting with divine paired selections at the lovely La Mercerie. Chef Marie-Aude Rose honored the theme of the night with a grand curated selection of dishes paired wonderfully with the beautiful glasses served.
To start off a toast was made with Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Rosé 2008 along with Lobster medallion and fennel cream Mini gougères. It was a perfect way to applaud the grand soiree and would have been greatly appreciated by the original Madame Clicquot, the first woman to rise to power in Champagne years ago.
The gathering continued with Chandon Étoile Brut served with Sardines and vanilla vinegar. The second match of divine Krug Grande Cuvée 167th Edition was served with Vegetable Vol-au-vent. And the final Skyside Red Blend 2017 was issued with wonderful Boeuf Bourguignon.
Truly, it was a moment for the books as each of the pairings represented the grand profile of Moët Hennessy that works with some of the top female wine makers in the industry. Such trailblazers in modern commerce include the bright, youthful Pauline Lhote, who is the official winemaker of Chandon California; as well as the savvy Margareth Henriquez, President and CEO, Krug Champagne and Estates & Wines at LVMH.
