The designer wowed with sustainability using leftover, hand-dyed bridal materials or organically sourced fabrics painting a vibrant palette of bronze, citron and cyan in the Fall/Winter collection.
The Fall/Winter 2018 presentation from Leanne Marshall held in a beautifully sun-lit Spring Studios, overlooking the Hudson River left its participants feeling truly romantic on this year’s Valentine’s Day.
When the moody instrumentals sounded, the first model took to the catwalk in a structured navy sheath dress, followed by more models with trendy wet-hair look bringing on chunky knitwear pieces, subtly striped separates, and oversized jackets. Slowly, the collection transformed into more Leanne Marshall characteristical flowing dresses and gowns.
The color palette consisted of charcoal, midnight navy, dusty rose, metallic bronze, citron, and cyan. The color combinations flowed gorgeously from one capsule to the next with her signature silk chiffon silhouettes, wool shift dresses, and organic cotton outerwear.
The audience applauded Marshall’s choice of all colors, shapes and sizes of models walking the runway. Forty models, many of whom were plus sized and real sized, echoed the designer’s desire to dress all women. Flaunting the beauty of every body, Leanne chose to steer away from the norm and feature fitted, body-hugging silhouettes.
Leanne finished the presentation with a breathtaking voluminous citron gown featuring lace illusion and crinkle silk organza details.
