Days before the 23rd edition of the tournament takes place with 48 teams and three host countries, the sports legend came out to kick up excitement for the game in Southern California at the soon to open Raising Cane’s Inglewood Flagship.
Donovan proudly walked in to the restaurant days before officially launching to play it up and celebrate the opening just steps from SoFi Stadium. A perfect place for a meal and a perfect way to honor the game that will unite the world with harmonious cheers.
“The players will be feeling nervous but also excited. And I’m the same way — nervous, excited and optimistic. Soccer is unlike any sport and is much more popular than it’s ever been,” he told reporters during press conference at the property. “I’m also excited to just be a fan.”

Located at Hollywood Park, the destination restaurant features a massive exterior halo with integrated LED displays, immersive digital experiences, a disco-ball chandelier, custom art installations, a walk-up ordering window and a multi-level design inspired by the energy of Inglewood’s world-class sports and entertainment district.
“Driving up here and seeing Raising Cane’s and Hollywood Park and SoFi was crazy. It’s all here,” said Donovan during a press conference. “What Raising Cane’s has done here at SoFi is incredible. They could have picked anywhere in LA, but they picked here.”
It’s a big win for Raising Cane’s as they add their signature deliciousness to their Southern California portfolio that is on goal to set records for massive amount of fan love for crispy chicken fingers and the freshest lemonade around.
In between dishing out delicious Box Combos and signing autographs, the Cali kid said with a grin about the World Cup coming at the same time of the opening of the newest Raising Cane’s location:“It’s amazing to see everything in LA,” he said. “I’m a proud Angeleno — I love this city.”
