This week, famed fashion house and culture curating phenom Maison Kitsune hosted a launch party to kick off an 8-city tour featuring a collective of up and coming artists.
Kitsune’s most recent project is an expansive collaboration with the National Basketball Association, featuring a ready to wear capsule collection and pop up parties around the world featuring hand-picked musical artists. The Kitsune Tour started out in Brussels, then moved on to Paris, Toronto, New York City, and finally ended in Boston.
New York Cities tour began at their flagship store in SoHo, focused on the collab’s ready to wear. Featuring mostly printed tee shirts, the collection isn’t exactly deep, but is certainly hip. Huge bold block letters and NBA team logos add visual assertion to the product mix, and street style items such as a patchwork button up and coach’s jacket draw interest from those who aren’t exactly sporting enthusiasts.
Le Bain at the Standard hosted the after party, bumping chill house and remixed disco music by Yacine, Flamingosis, and famed French-American DJ Zimmer.
Disco Shrine- whose track “Up in the Air” is featured on the “Kitsuné America 5, NBA Edition” playlist, also gave a live performance featuring the aforementioned single as well as songs from her last album Soft Fur released in 2016.
