History was made Saturday night as Kai Cenat presented his long-awaited debut Vivet collection.
Cenat’s journey as a creator has been well documented, so it’s no surprise that the young entrepreneur brought his audience along to detail and demonstrate the process behind crafting his fashion label Vivet. Since inception, Cenat has shared his process with the world and it’s safe to say that Vivet was the most highly anticipated show of the season. Cenat not only succeeded in bringing streamers to the forefront during NYFW, he even received support from guests like fashion veteran Law Roach and living legend Lauryn Hill. Guests included family members, fellow streaming group AMP, artists like A Boogie, Shenseea and Coi Leray, fashion icons like Jaden Smith and Wisdom Kaye, grammy nominated streamer Plaqueboy Max and more. Models included Alton Mason, Duke Dennis, Giovanna Ramos and more. Cenat’s talent has transcended industry, profession and age, connecting individuals with a passion for innovation, fashion and culture and his debut collection was a reflection of just that.

Held at the distinguished Cipriani in lower Manhattan, the Vivet presentation didn’t only begin when the models walked, instead it began the moment you set foot through the doors. Upon entering the venue, guests couldn’t help but gaze in awe at the ornate design of the high ceilings and the beautiful architecture of the building. Gathered in one room were most of the friends, peers and family that helped Cenat become who he is today and in one way or another helped motivate him to create, pursue and officially launch Vivet.

Vivet is a latin phrase which translates to “he, she, or it will live forever” and in more than one way Cenat has signaled that he hopes his legacy will outlive him, which given his positive track record it most likely will. Vivet aims to bridge contemporary tailoring, sportswear heritage, and subcultural narrative across menswear, womenswear, footwear, and luxury leather goods. Vivet strives to create timeless pieces that will outlast trends. After spending months in Italy learning and understanding textile manufacturing, pattern-making, and leather construction with industry specialists, Cenat gained a foundation in fashion that informed how he brought his vision to life.

Cenat’s debut Vivet collection was a reflection of his personal growth and evolution of style delivered in three acts. The individual acts ranged from raw beginning to aesthetic maturity. Mirroring Cenat’s own aesthtic journey the three acts depict the evolution from oversized hoodies and streetwear to elevated accents and outerwear to tailored silhouettes and leather goods. Act one “Origin” kicked off with the “Beginner Hoodie,” the very first Vivet piece, which Cenat sewed by hand, and featured sweats and hoodies. Act two “Exploration” leaned heavily on layering and outerwear and act three “Authorship” featured the cleanest resolved shapes, structure and architectural shapes.

One of the standout pieces from the collection and a testament to Cenat’s innovation was the streamer bag which reimagined a utility bag into a fine leather good. This piece alone bridged the gap between high fashion and the streamer / creator community. Leather itself was the common thread/ material throughout the collection and used as the backbone of the line. The palette consisted of warm earth tones juxtaposed by pops of red, mustard and blue.
