Imagine Dragons released new music video for their single “Roots” on Vevo.
The video follows Dan Reynolds the lead singer as he struggles to maintain a sense of self and balance while touring. The chaos of touring leads Reynolds to try and reunite with his roots.
For this uniquely honest and introspective video the band partnered with Box, a company who aims to provide a secure content platform. The video was presented at the BoxWorks convention and includes a separate brief that tells the story of how the video was created.
“Roots” was directed by Matt Eastin who also directed the Imagine Dragons music videos for “I’m on Top of the World” and “Shots” (Broiler remix). Eastin and the band ventured to Aukland and Christchurch, New Zealand to shoot the video while the band was on their Smoke + Mirrors Worldwide Tour.
The band rocked day two of the Life is Beautiful Music & Art Festival in Downtown Las Vegas. The event was filled with performances by Duran Duran, Snoop Dogg, Metric, Chance the Rapper, Pia Mia and more. The festival wrapped up with a nostalgic performance by the city’s own hometown heroes, Imagine Dragons.
