2017 has been the year of women empowerment and Danita Short, founder and CEO of LAND of distraction is making sure to kick off 2018 with the same message!

Last night influencers, celebrities and L.A.’s fashionistas stepped out to celebrate the exclusive launch of this Rock ‘n’ Roll, motorcycle culture and raw energy of the 70’s inspired women’s wear fashion label. The celebration was held at West Hollywood’s famed Chateau Marmont hotel which was the perfect setting for a night of fashion, fun and honoring badass women.

Just in case you needed some styling inspiration, some of your favorite stars dressed in LAND of distraction from head to toe including actress Kate Bosworth that rocked in her menswear inspired corduroy set. It was the perfect balance between chic and rebellion. Another actress that stunned in Land of Distraction was Jaime King who wore a light-colored, flowy ensemble paired with a bright jacket hanging off her shoulders. It is clear that this line is for the thrill seekers, rule breakers and path finders! Among the daringly fabulous crowd were Hollywood knockouts such as Angela Bassett, Zelda Williams, Connie Britton, Kristin Chenoweth and many more!

It was almost as if we were transported to the South with the beautiful décor creating a warm and inviting ambiance. Digital and still images of the brand’s first campaign captured by renowned photographer Leon Mark and featuring top models such as Dilone and Jess PW covered the walls. The rose petals scattered throughout the venue with the dim lighting gave a grungy and vintage like feel. Not to mention, Nashville’s rebel country music darling Nikki Lane brought the house down with her special live performance and DJ Mia Moretti began and ended the night with tunes everyone could sing along to.  Danita Short hoped to inspire and empower women through LAND of distraction and help them express themselves using fashion as a vehicle and I for one believe she has accomplished her goal.
