This Monday, designer and artist Gianni Mora released his newest fashion venture via “Helder Vices Corp” entitled “Ladies & Gentlemen, Natural Preservations”. Both the presentation and party were held at the newest hype spot in NYC nightlife “the Mailroom” in the Financial District. For the presentation, Mora employed a variety of tactics to bring home his message and make his night as memorable as possible. In addition to the guest DJs Kerwin Frost, CCCC, and John Ross, musician Young Paris performed a small set, and artist Kai Schachter supplied artwork to decorate the room. The party started rather early, as the line was closed to hopeful visitors around 10 o’clock. Thankfully there was an open bar, to hype party goers up for the main attraction.
Amongst Schachter’s art, there were the typical furnishings of the Mail Room. Novelty attractions such as walls of apartment mailboxes added to the ambiance, as well as vintage video game consoles featuring PacMan replaced tables immersing guests into a kitschy yet playfully innocent type of club scene. As the night drew on, the crowd became restless and stormed the stage to dance. Around 12 the stage was cleared and everything was set for the guest performance, which was slated to be Gucci Mane. As Gucci walked up with his security posse, everyone seemed anxious for the drop. The crowd was full of die hard Gucci Mane fans, and knew every word to his opener “First Day Out”.
