The annual amfAR gala took place at the Mandarin Oriental New York on February 11.
The event was presented by Harry Winston and honored the legendary Oscar nominated producer Harvey Weinstein for his longtime contributions to amfAR, which is the world’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting AIDS research and HIV prevention. Guests in attendance included Robert DeNiro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Karolina Kurkova, Diane Kruger, Jay-Z, Uma Thurman, Karlie Kloss, and many others.
Robert DeNiro presented the amfAR Award of Courage to Weinstein with a heartfelt tribute, as well as introducing a video with remarks from other influential friends in the entertainment industry such as Idris Elba, Anna Wintour, Kerry Washington, Naomi Watts, and more. Guests were then treated to a live auction of many exclusive items such as original Andy Warhol prints of Mick Jagger signed by both Warhol and Jagger ($125,000), two Mongolian expeditions (Leonardo DiCaprio bought one for $190,000), and Harry Winston earrings ($45,000).
After that, Grammy-nominated singer Charlie XCX performed an invigorating set including her hits “Doing It” and “Boom Clap.” Icona Pop ended the night with their signature hits “Emergency” and “I Love It.”
The evening was presented by Moet & Chandon & Fiji Water.
