On Friday, September 25, 2015, Drama Desk Award-winner Renee Elise Goldsberry, star of the Broadway hit musical “Hamilton,” celebrated her appearance on the cover of the September 2015 issue of Resident Magazine with an exclusive cocktail mixer at One57, one of the most elite and prominent addresses in Manhattan.
Goldsberry, who appeared in the final Broadway cast of Rent and has frequently guest-starred on television in shows such as The Good Wife, is currently enjoying a career-defining performance as Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton.
Guests socialized over wine, cocktails, and bread bites provided by Il Valentino Osteria while enjoying incomparable views of Central Park, the Hudson River, and the skyscrapers of Midtown Manhattan. The elegant and chic corner bedrooms boasted floor-to-ceiling windows, and the hallways donned the atmosphere of an art gallery. The unit, at over 5,400 square feet, priced at 35.2 million-dollars, and towering 54 stories above Midtown Manhattan, provided the picture-perfect setting to celebrate Goldsberry’s work and echoed the height of her achievements.
Hamilton, the new musical in which Goldsberry stars, has been taking the New York theatre scene by storm with universal acclaim since its opening off-Broadway at The Public Theatre earlier this year and on Broadway since August 6. The musical, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, tells the story of the American Founding Fathers with an R&B and hip-hop score, as well as a widely multiracial cast, in reflection of modern-day America. You can catch Goldsberry in the role of Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City.
Publisher Michael Travin, Editor-in-Chief Pamela Jacobs with Lisa Bernstein and Melissa Kassis presented the fabulous event.
