Actor and Omega brand ambassador, George Clooney, joined the Omega President, Mr. Stephen Urquhart, special guests: astronauts, Jim Lovell, Tom Stafford, Gene Cernan and key Houston celebrities and influencers to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the Apollo 13 mission.
The black tie gala designed to resemble a dinner on the moon paid tribute to Omega as a trusted partner in space exploration, highlighting the role of theOMEGA Speedmaster during the Apollo 13 mission. Additional guests included the event master of ceremonies Lily Koppel (author of The Astronaut Wives Club), actresses Yvonne Strahovski, Joanna Garcia Swisher, and producer Stephanie Savage (of the ABC show The Astronaut Wives Club). Ever since the first moon landing in 1969, Omega has been a trusted partner in space exploration. The Speedmaster, in particular, has become an enduring icon. As the first watch ever worn on the moon, it has accompanied astronauts on all six lunar landings, solidifying its reputation as the integral link between Omega and space program.
