Fox Entertainment Announces 2023-2024 Television Content

The line-up involved hit dramas, comedies, and animated series.

Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade revealed the 2023-2024 television season content list. The line-up contained five second-season renewals, thirteen additional series renewals, and six new series orders. Fox announced this lineup to national advertising committees during Fox’s Upfront Presentation at Manhattan Center.

The entertainment company added new dramas, animated comedies, and unscripted shows to their line-up. Award-winning executive producers developed the new television shows. Jamie Fox, Will Arnett, John Wells, and Dan Harmon created projects. Additional producers included Jon Hamm, Hank Steinberg, and Barbie Kligman. Fox renewed hit dramas.

Returning dramas included Accused (Season Two), Alert: Missing Persons Unit (Season Two), 9-1-1: Lone Star (Season Five), and Cleaning Lady (Season Three). Renewed animated series included Bob’s Burgers (Season 14), The Great North (Season Four), The Simpsons (Season 35), and Family Guy (Season 22). The entertainment company renewed fan-favorite unscripted shows as well.

Fox renewed Farmer Wants a Wife, LEGO Masters, and The Masked Singer for new seasons. The cooking shows Hell’s Kitchen and Next Level Chef returned as well. I Can See Your Voice, Name That Tune, and Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test received renewal. The company introduced exciting dramas.

Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment Studios co-produced the new medical drama Doc. Steinberg (Channel Road Productions) and Erwin Stoff (3 Arts Entertainment) served as Executive Producers. The production team based the series on the globally-acclaimed Italian series ‘Doc: Nelle tu mani.’ The show’s format was sold in twelve countries with seven versions previously made.

The American version focused on the hardworking Chief of Internal and Family Medicine at Westside Hospital Dr. Amy Elias. A brain injury erased her memories from the past eight years. Amy navigated an unfamiliar with no memory of her patients, colleagues, former soulmate, or new love. She relied on her estranged seventeen-year-old daughter and close friends. Fox’s other new drama, Rescue: HI-Surf has similar, high-stakes themes.

Executive producer John Wells’ action-drama Rescue: HI-Surf. Wells (Shameless) and executive producer/writer Matt Kester (Animal Kingdom) worked on the high-stakes Hawaiian lifeguard drama. The show followed the lives of lifeguards at the dangerous North Shore of O’ahu coastline. Each episode featured different brave first responders as they saved lives. Fox released new animated comedies as well.

FOX’s Emmy Award-winning animation house, Bento Box Entertainment, produced new animated comedies. Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Hamon directed Krapopolis. The series starred Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd), and Matt Berry (What We Do in The Shadows). The show had a unique setting: Ancient Greece.

Krapopolis focused on a family of flawed gods, humans, and monsters. The characters tried to run a city without trouble. Ayodae voiced “Tyrannis,” the self-involved King of Krapopolis. Waddingham played his mother, “Deliria,” who doubles as the goddess of questionable choices. The show featured creatures like minotaurs and half-manticores. Fox’s other new animated series, Grimesburg took a different comedic approach.

Hamm executively produced and starred in the realistic-fiction show Grimsburg. His character, Marvin Flute, is a brilliant detective with eccentric opinions. In the past, he prioritized his personal problems—family and small arguments with co-workers—over his job. After his return to Grimsburg, he hoped to concentrate on solving crimes. Sidekicks included his ex-wife and estranged son.

Emmy and Golden Globe Award-nominated comedian David Spade (Saturday Night Live) hosted and produced the new game show Snake Oil. Through Electric Avenue Productions, Emmy nominee Will Arnett (LEGO Masters) executively produced the show. Viewers saw an inventive game show format.

Convincing entrepreneurs pitched their unique products to the contestants. While some showcased real items, others were ‘Snake Oil Salesmen.’ These actors offered fake products in custom-made infomercials. With the help of celebrity guests, contestants determined which items were real. The series offered life-changing money as a prize.

Jamie Foxx, Matilda Zoltowski, and Jeff Apploff executively produced We Are Family. Zoltowski serves as the showrunner as well. Apploff Entertainment and Fox Alternative Entertainment created and co-produced the program. Foxx’s daughter, Corrinne, hosted the music-guessing series.

Non-famous relatives performed their hidden famous relatives’ songs. One-hundred contestants played through multiple rounds of clues and gameplay. They hoped to guess the correct famous relative for up to $100,000 each. Surprise celebrity guests included actors, musicians, and professional athletes.

Lego Masters aired its second multiple-night event LEGO Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular. Arnett hosted the four-hour competition. Celebrity guests joined fan-favorite builders from the series. Together, they created amazing holiday-themed towers out of Lego bricks. Fox Entertainment planned a fantastic summer lineup as well.

Beat Shazam and Don’t Forget The Lyrics will have season premieres on May 23. MasterChef and Gordon Ramsy’s Food Stars will see season debuts on May 24. A new season of Crime Scene Kitchen will premiere on June 5. The new show Stars on Mars will debut on June 5 as well. Fox will announce additional summer programming.

FOX’s full 2023-2024 programming slate is – Dramas: 9-1-1: Lone Star, Accused, Alert: Missing Persons Unit, The Cleaning Lady, Doc, and Rescue: HI-Surf; Comedies: Animal Control, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, The Great North, Grimsburg, Krapopolis, and The Simpsons; Unscripted: Farmer Wants a Wife, Hell’s Kitchen, I Can See Your Voice, Kitchen Nightmares, LEGO Masters, LEGO Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular, The Masked Singer, Name That Tune, Next Level Chef, Snake Oil, Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test and We Are Family.
