WARNING: Spoiler alert. The Knockturnal‘s Kinsey Schofield talks False Positive with star Pierce Brosnan and producer John Lee. Watch the interview above!
Want to work with Hollywood icon Pierce Brosnan? Sometimes it’s as simple as a phone call. “Ilana [Glazer] called me up. Sent it to my agent,” explains 007. “John Lee, the director, who wrote it with Ilana, I guess they thought it would be good for me to play Dr. Hindel. Who’s this rather charming and very groomed character, which I’ve done throughout my career and which I’ve built a career on so you take that kind of roleplaying, which I’ve done a lot of and made a career of in some respects and then you skewer it with horror. It’s a horror story about the true horror of what happens in our society.” Pierce Brosnan, charming and groomed? Sold.
John Lee believes it’s more than just a horror story though… “I spent a lot of time during the edit, during some of the downtime, thinking of it. And the phrases I came up with were psychological satire and the phrase that I like to use a lot is nervous laughter. You know, it’s like, it’s that feeling of when you’re about to ride a rollercoaster. Some people scream. I laugh when I’m on a rollercoaster.”
I am all about a rollercoaster ride as long as there’s a funnel cake and corndog involved.
