Actors Luke James and Jacob Latimore discuss the premiere of the second half of season six of ‘The Chi,’ returning to SHOWTIME.
This season, no one seems to be safe and will be tested throughout the season. You can expect the last eight episodes of the season to be shocking and filled with adrenaline about what will happen next. “I think he’s in a situation he’s never been in before, and we’re going to see him maintain who he is,”
Latimore shared about his character Emmett. Emmette’s highs and lows will be shown this season regarding his relationship with Kiesha (Birgundi Baker) due to his partnership with Douda. You’ll be able to see Emmett attempt to maintain who he is in the midst of the chaos he is involved in by being a good father and son.
Luke James says, “He’s playing chess, and he’s trying to understand what’s the next best move,” when discussing his character Victor. Luke James describes the character Douda (Curtiss Cook) as “having his foot on his neck” this season regarding his role in politics.
This season continues to tell the stories of characters living on the South Side of Chicago, with the characters’ daily dangers leading to possible life-or-death situations. As you watch, you’ll notice the importance of mental health mentioned by each of the characters as they deal with their hardships. The second half of season six premiered on May 10th and is available to watch on SHOWTIME.
