Exclusive: Francisca LaChapel Talks Skincare, Career & More!

POND’S hosted a special event in Miami recently with TV personality, Francisca LaChapel.

As an actress and morning show host, Francisca shared plenty of tips and tricks on how to keep her skin fresh and camera-ready through long days of filming and red carpet events. We caught up with Francisca to discuss all things beauty, including how she achieves radiant and glowing skin with her longtime favorite brand, POND’S.

The Knockturnal: How do you keep your skin fresh?

Francisca LaChapel: Firstly, I keep my skin fresh by letting it breathe. As you know, I work on Despierta America, which is a daily show that I have to wear a lot of makeup for, and, I have a long day after I finish with the show so I let my skin breathe almost immediately. As soon as I’m done with the show I take off all of my makeup with POND’S Cleansing Balm. It’s super easy to use. I can do it in any bathroom in the studio. I apply the balm to my skin, watch as it turns into an oil and melts away all of my makeup, rinse it with warm water, and I’m ready to go to the gym, which is the next stop for the day. The gym is fundamental to me because it’s also part of my beauty routine.

The Knockturnal: What is your skincare routine?

Francisca LaChapel: (Laughs) I just told you. Take off my makeup is number #1. I use the POND’S Cleansing Balm to melt away all my makeup. It’s the best one for me because of it’s ease of use. I can take off all my makeup, not lose any time in my day and it keeps my skin hydrated and soft. It’s what any Latina working woman needs, a complete product, only one bottle has all the skincare benefits you need.

The Knockturnal: What’s the most important advice you have received in your career?

Francisca LaChapel: The best advice I’ve been given was that I have to be resilient because, although, it’s difficult to get to this point in your career, it’s even more difficult to stay at this level. In order to maintain a long career, I have to prepare myself every day and push through any of the difficult times that may come. It doesn’t happen overnight, I have to constantly be pushing forward and keep my eyes on the future and my dreams.

The Knockturnal: What advice do you have for people aspiring to work in media or TV?

Francisca LaChapel: The thing that I can tell you about this job in which you always see us made up and super pretty, it looks easy but it’s not easy. It’s a lot of work so you always have to be prepared and on top of things. If you want to have a career on TV or a career in singing, you have to study in that field and prepare yourself whether it’s in dictation, singing, or research. All anchors live off what comes into their head and then out of their mouth so they have to nourish their mind by studying and being aware of what’s going on around them. They need to remember that opportunities come knocking when someone is prepared and knowledgeable so that they can take advantage of the opportunity.

The Knockturnal: Who is an important mentor in your career?

Francisca LaChapel: I have friends in media, and I also have my boss in Despierta America, Luz Maria Doria. If I have any problem, I can go to her and ask her for advice. She’s a mother and has years of experience in the entertainment field. It’s very important to have a third party that is outside of a situation and can see it from a different angle than maybe you did. They can give you the right advice and keep you going so you don’t lose the strength to keep reaching for your dreams.

The Knockturnal: How would you describe your style?

Francisca LaChapel: (Laughs) Super simple and relaxed. Outside of television, I’m very relaxed. Since I spend so much of my day with a full face of makeup and heels, when I’m out and about the rest of the day with my fiancé or friends I’m very casual. I love to wear little makeup, jeans, a loose fitting top, so I can let my belly free (laughs). Super simple, that’s how I’d describe myself.

The Knockturnal: Who is one celebrity you would like to meet and haven’t met? And why?

Francisca LaChapel: Oh, The Rock! (laughs) I haven’t met him and I would love to meet him! My fiancé knows how much I love the Rock. I love him! I like him a lot because of his story and how he got to where he is in his life. I love how every time you see him on social media he’s extremely focused on his job and he’s always smiling from ear to ear. It motivates you and pushes you to strive for the things you want. And you think to yourself, even though he’s a superstar, at some point I can be there if I keep pushing. He’s also a family man. He loves his kids and his wife. Not to mention how good he looks. There’s nothing wrong with also looking sometimes. (laughs)

The Knockturnal: What upcoming projects would you like to share?

Francisca LaChapel: I’m working on my online shop called “Be Authentic by Francisca”. I think the way for someone to achieve everything they want is to remain authentic and to share with the world the gifts God gave you. I’m working on that, a line of jewelry. I’m also very involved in Despierta America and I want to continue immersing myself in it so I can become an even better anchor because I’m very involved in my Hispanic community.
