We caught up with “The Arrangement” Star Christine Evangelista at NBC’s midseason cocktail party at the Four Seasons in New York City.
Season 2 premieres tonight March 11 on E!. In season 1, we meet struggling actress Megan Morrison who lands an audition playing the female lead opposite Kyle West, one of the world’s top action movie stars. After Megan’s amazing audition leads to an incredible first date (and more) with Kyle, her Cinderella story takes an unexpected turn when she is presented with a contract that would change her life forever.
The Knockturnal: So, tell me what can fans expect from the new season?
Christine Evangelista: Well, I think this season we come back a lot stronger. It’s much more elevated than it was last season. I think that’s partly because so many things are on the table. Everyone has shown their cards in a lot of ways and where do you go with this information now? So much has happened to Megan. The relationship with Kyle is obviously in a very difficult place, but she has to placate these people right now in order to even possibly get out if she can. She obviously wants to take control and take down the institute. Can she do it? And is she even ready to take on this patriarchy? I think these are all the things that we start off in the season. She has to be the perfect girlfriend, the perfect actress and she has to be the perfect role model for this institute, which is something she does not believe in. So she’s pulled in all of these directions, and how does she live with herself at the end of the day? And these are the things that really drive the beginning of the season and where it goes by the end. I’m honestly so excited by the end of the season I think people are going to be shocked.

The Knockturnal: Season 1 was very cinematic and dramatic.
Christine Evangelista: Yeah, and I promise you, this season it’s even more. I’m proud of that.
The Knockturnal: The show is pretty dark at times. Can you speak about that?
Christine Evangelista: Yeah, it’s very dark and not only is she going to dark places emotionally and constantly having to reevaluate what she’s doing with her life and what she’s doing in this relationship, but we see a lot more of the institute because she’s trying to expose the corruption from within. So we see everything that they’re doing that’s fraudulent, that’s evil. And then we also see why Kyle is so connected to it and why he cannot leave.
The Knockturnal: And how was working with Josh once again?
Christine Evangelista: It’s the best. Season 2 is great in so many ways, and one of them is our working relationship. We get along so well. Our chemistry is great onscreen and offscreen. He’s honestly like family to me. I couldn’t imagine doing it without him.
The Knockturnal: What has the fan reception been like? How fun has it been to interact with the fans?
Christine Evangelista: They’ve been so great to us. In particular, they love our relationship, they love following on screen and off screen, which is so cool. But I feel very lucky that the fans support Megan and love her as much as they do.
The Knockturnal: As an actor, has it been fun to play an actor? Has that been interesting for you?
Christine Evangelista: Kind of wild. In fact, this season Kyle and Megan are making a movie together. So you’re seeing this couple working together and getting to know each other. You see a lot of what it takes to make a movie this season and that’s fun.
The Knockturnal: Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Christine Evangelista: I cannot wait for you to watch this season. I think you’re gonna be really into it, and I promise you by mid-season it’s going to shift in a different way, even more than it did last year.
