Peter Dinklage and Shirley MacLaine star in American Dreamer, an indie film that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
This film has been written by Academy Award nominee Theodore Melfi and will be directed by award winning commercial director Paul Dektor. This movie is being produced by Peter Dinklage and David Ginsberg’s Estuary Films, Theodore Melfi and Kim Quinn’s Goldenlight Films, Paul Dektor, and Flying Firebird LLC. Kim Quinn will also be in the movie as Stacy MacLaine’s daughter Maggie.
In the film, we follow Dr. Phil Loder (Dinklage), an adjunct professor of economics at Harvard, trying to achieve one of his grandest dreams…driving a home…until an unexpected, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity comes up when a lonely, childless, almost-dead widow (MacLaine) offers him her sprawling estate for pennies on the dollar. But Phil soon realizes that he made a mistake by believing the deal was too good to be true.
Minutes before American Dreamer premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, I was able to speak with the cast and editor of the film in a series of exclusive interviews. They all shared insight on their experiences on the set, getting into character, and their favorite memories of being part of American Dreamer.
