Wars are anything but pretty. Wars with your grandpa?—even messier. In this film, sixth-grader Peter (Oakes Fegley) launches an all out war with his grandfather Ed (Robert De Niro) after he moved in with Peter’s family and takes over his bedroom. Peter, unwilling to let such an injustice stand, devises a series of increasingly elaborate pranks to drive out the interloper, but Grandpa Ed refuses to go down without a proper fight.
There’s dodgeball, and an endless amount of back and forth pranks that will be entertaining every step of the way. Unaware of the generational war that ensues, Peter’s family is put into a series of random, unexplainable situations. Acting legend, De Niro, proves his ability to continue to portray incredible, versatile roles. His character and fun personality comes out shining in this film alongside Fegley.
The audience is also given the chance to watch a couple of new stars in the film. The film is family friendly and is based on the award-winning book by Robert Kimmel Smith. With an all-star supporting cast: Christopher Walken, Uma Thurman, Rob Riggle, Cheech Marin, Laura Marano and Jane Seymour—this is one film that’s enjoyable for all ages. It’s a heartwarming film that reminds you that family is what matters most. So gather your popcorn, sit back and prepare to laugh!
