The story of “Infamous” is a “fantasyland where the lines between reality and illusion have become dangerously blurred; where the majority of kids say they want to be famous — but for what it doesn’t matter,” states Director Joshua Caldwell.
The culture our modern society has developed, is a pressing desire to reach a high amount of likes across our social media platforms. It’s rooted in the need to be and stay relevant at all times.
Infamous illustrates this idea perfectly. The film is centered around society’s obsession with social media and the spark it ignites inside of Arielle [Bella Thorne]. Arielle is a down on her luck dreamer who longs for popularity. She meets Dean [Jake Manley], an ex-con working for his abusive father and is immediately mesmerized by him. He’s not the only thing she’s mesmerized by however. In the two of them, she sees the potential they have to be famous together – and sets out to achieve this, whatever the cost that may be.
