Model Elsa Hosk donned the cover of Victoria’s Secret’s 2016 Swimsuit catalogue for the first time.
The annual catalogue features the sexy and fashionable swimsuits of the upcoming season. Crochet details and bright colors are frequent motifs in the new swimsuits. Surf and boho influences make up most of the new trends of the season, seen in the crochet bikini worn by Hosk on the cover.
The new crochet style mimics neoprene rather than the traditional string texture. Zippers and unique straps also add to the active, beach theme of the new suits.
The catalogue was shot by fashion photographer Guy Aroch on the island of Bora Bora. The catalogue must be a great success for the Swedish native having been an Angel on the runway since 2011. Hosk told People Magazine about learning she landed the cover saying, “I was freaking out. I literally thought they were playing a joke on me. I know this is such a big deal, and I am so honored to be selected as the cover model.”
The new collection can be seen and purchased on the Victoria’s Secret website and catalogue as well as their iPad and iPhone apps. It will be available in stores starting Jan. 12.
