Dawn of Justice punched through the box office this weekend, providing fans a look into one of comic book’s greatest hero battle, but entices them for what’s next.

It comes as no surprise that DC intends to establish a cinematic universe timeline after witnessing the success of Marvel’s universe, and kicked it off this weekend. Directed by Zack Snyder, the marketing push for Dawn of Justice rallied together large crowds who rushed to the theaters to see the epic battle between Batman and Superman. Judgment is still out on the overall success of the movie, but the results cannot be argued. Racking up over $500 million within its opening weekend, the superhero action film brings celebratory news to its team and cast. However for invested fans the movie was more than just a look into DC’s biggest heroes, it was the first movie to set off the DCU. With an entire year packed with super hero movies, the timeline must continue which means fans are looking towards Justice League: Part One.

Though Suicide Squad is the official next release within the timeline, Dawn of Justice provided many inside looks into the true DC superhero epic set to release in November of 2017. The introduction to the main characters of the league was provided in Snyder’s film, giving about two minute looks at the Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman. Of course even if you haven’t seen the movie, the trailers provides the firsthand look at Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. Interestingly enough Synder provides fans a peek into another important concept while introducing one of the League heroes, Cyborg. Within the two minute introduction the audience witnesses the creation of Cyborg but also gets a glimpse at the Mother Box. The Mother Box is an alien supercomputer that meshes together with a host body and protects it by providing extra abilities. Knowing this, fans are provided the insight that Cyborg’s character growth is vital to the structure of the DCU. The DC equivalent to Marvel’s Avengers, the Justice League epic will be broken down into two parts and filmed by Zack Snyder. The only word that has been released about it is that fans should expect: Big. But finally after the easter eggs given to the public about Justice League via Dawn of Justice, a bigger look into the movie is given. Warner Bros threw crowds for a curveball with the release of a deleted scene from Dawn of Justice in hopes to shine light on the cryptic ending.

The scene opens to Lex Luthor in the crashed Kyrptonian ship talking with another being before the SWAT team barges in, but the main topic is who the villain is talking to. Though the scene doesn’t show a clear enough depiction many are contemplating that Luthor is speaking with alien force Darkseid, who may be the villain for the Justice League storyline. The scene is set to be a part of the director’s uncut version of the Blu-ray release of Dawn of Justice, but continues to entice the public for what’s to come in the DC cinematic universe.
