KJ Apa, Isabel May and Archie Renaux brought a London love triangle to Manhattan on Sunday night for the New York premiere of Falling at the SAG-AFTRA Robin Williams Center.
Brainstorm Media and Gulfstream Pictures hosted the October 4 screening, where the film’s three leads walked the red carpet before joining writer-director brothers James and Colin Krisel onstage for a post-film Q&A moderated by Ben Younger. Gulfstream’s Mike Karz and Bill Bindley, executive producer Dakota Rosen and Matt Luber of Luber Roklin Entertainment were also in the room.

Shot in London, Falling centers on Jack (Apa), a sharp-tongued charmer with a habit of dodging commitment until he meets Jillian (May). The trouble is that his best friend, Johnny (Renaux), is falling for her too. What unfolds is less a fairy tale than a test of loyalty, as the three weigh what they want for themselves against what they owe each other.

The Krisels set the story against a string of inviting London locations and lean on their leads to upend the genre’s familiar beats. The result lands on a question most modern daters will recognize: how do you chase your own happiness without wrecking the relationships that got you there?
On the red carpet, The Knockturnal asked Renaux how he and Apa bonded while making the film. He said the two connected over something they have in common: both are young dads. Watch KJ Apa’s interview here.

May was asked how she built chemistry opposite two characters who are so different from each other. “KJ and Archie are so different, so it was quite easy to understand why the character would fall in love with each of them for different reasons,” May said. “Ultimately, everyone has something you want and something you don’t.” She then joked, “Of course, you just want to gobble them both up.”
Apa, best known for Riverdale, pulls double duty as an executive producer on the film, while May (1883) and Renaux (Alien: Romulus) round out the central trio. The supporting cast includes Sophie Simnett, Emma Laird, Nick Hendrix, Alex Jarrett and Will Close. Brainstorm Media picked up the film for North American release in early September.
Falling opens in theaters October 9, with a VOD release to follow November 10.
