Last night, The Knockturnal had the chance to witness long awaited legendary R&B songstress, JoJo, deliver on the New York City leg of her “I Am JoJo” tour.
Following the “The High Road” back in 2006, JoJo’s second tour after almost a decade is completely sold out. Devoted fans, old and new, came to together at the Marlin Room in Webster Hall to celebrate the singer’s comeback on Nov. 3. The one hour long show exceeded the audience’s expectations of the singer and she discussed her emotional journey with hardship and love in music and life through her lyrics.
Gearing up for her debut with Atlantic Records, JoJo shared her newly released “tringle” consisting of “Say Love,” “Save My Soul,” and “When Love Hurts” that transcended through the hearts of the audience. Her soulful voice combined with a new strong spirited vengeance is refreshing and unrivaled in today’s R&B. In addition to her new hits, JoJo ran through tracks from earlier years such as “Leave (Get Out),” “Baby It’s You,” and “Too Little Too Late” that had the crowd singing along to every word. The entire performance showcased the evolution of the talented artist in a touching and powerful light.
JoJo’s concert concludes December 20 in New Orleans.
