France’s favorite Rosé takes Manhattan city girls on a romantic south of France vacation
Earlier this week, we attended the perfect Rosé party that transported us to a summer night in the south of France. The cocktail party was hosted at the gorgeous Garden Suite at the Warren Street hotel. With three joined rooms connected by the unique garden terrace, it was the perfect spot to indulge in a night of wine and hors d’oeuvres. Although the famous Chateau Minuty needs no introduction, but it is still incredible to learn that the wine has been a Côtes de Provence Classified Growth since 1955.
In their own words, “Nestled between land and sea in the heart of Provence, Château Minuty has been the wine estate of the Matton-Farnet family for more than 85 years over four generations”. With such long history, it is not wonder the Minuty Rose is taking Manhattan by storm.
Trying all three types of rose against this beautiful backdrop felt like we spent a night in Chateau Minuty ourselves. We chatted with the expert winemakers themselves and were instructed to try the wines from Minuty Prestige Rosé, Chateau Minuty Rosé et OR to the Chateau Minuty 281.
The Prestige was the perfect ‘appetizer’ wine to start the night off. The crisp and tangy red berries flavor followed by apricot notes make the wine a match made in heaven with fresh seafood. Drinking ours with the tuna tartare perfectly complemented the crisp acidity of the Prestige. The delicate sweetness of the fish is enhanced by the subtle fruit notes in the wine, creating a harmonious balance of flavors that leaves us ready for our next glass.

Next up, we had a glass of the citrusy and herbal Rose et OR. The wine’s minerality lends it a distinctive freshness, enhanced by the salinity so characteristic of the Minuty terroir. Made of Grenache 80%, Syrah 10%, Cinsault 5%, Tibouren 5%, this wine was elegant, full-bodied and crisp. This definitely felt like a wine I would enjoy with the main dish of a meal.
The last wine we indulged in was the Chateau Minuty 281, which is not only a delicious wine, but also a beautiful one. The blue drip from the nose of the bottle pays tribute to the Mediterranean Sea, which has nourished the Chateau Minuty vineyard since its inception. Made of Grenache 90%, Syrah 5%, Rolle 5%, this wine is delicate, indulgent and bold. At first, the nose is characterized by tropical fruits before your mouth is filled with notes of white-fleshed fruit. This was definitely our favorite, and we can’t wait to have a glass with my next seafood meal or a spicy dinner.
If you want to try a glass yourself, you can find Minuty in various delicious restaurants such as the famous Loulou French bistro. Go grab yourself a glass of Minuty 281 with Loulou’s signature whole grilled branzino or a splash of Prestige with their baked camembert.
