There is nothing better than enjoying a glass of wine among old friends and new.
Last week, the beloved Spanish wine brand Campo Viejo hosted an incredible “Sobremesa” dinner to celebrate their vibrant portfolio, bridging Spanish wine heritage with one of the oldest Spanish restaurants in New York City, Sevilla. For those unfamiliar with Sevilla, it is a James Beard Award-winning institution that has been serving classic Spanish cuisine for decades.

The night was entirely inspired by the Spanish custom of sobremesa, which is the art of lingering around the table long after the food is gone to share conversation, drinks, and laughter. Guests were seated together at a massive, beautifully set long table, instantly creating an atmosphere designed for this concept.
Curating the vibe for the evening was special guest host Amari Collins (@vin_dealer), who is widely known for her fun, zany, and anything-goes approach to wine education. She brought the effortless Spanish lifestyle right to Manhattan, keeping the room completely engaged with interactive elements, lively mingling, and spectacular porrón pours that had everyone laughing.

Under Amari’s guidance, the evening explored Spanish red wine as a bright, versatile, and playful drink rather than something to be over-analyzed. Throughout the multi-course, family-style feast, Campo Viejo’s wines were served in its original form or mixed into summer-ready cocktails. These drinks included the Campo Spritz and the Campomocho, which both paired beautifully with the kitchen’s tapas feast.
Between the steady flow of wine, the incredible food, and the great company, the event delivered the true spirit of sobremesa perfectly.
