Last week, Braun hosted an exclusive preview for NEVO at Bar Bastion, bringing together creators, grooming and lifestyle editors, and the brand team for an early look at the newest electric shaver.
Guests arrived to cocktails, mocktails, and light bites from the Le Jardinier team. Around the bar, editors and creators settled in with drinks while the Braun team introduced the product in smaller conversations before the demo began. Rosi Milenjov, Commercial Director for Braun, welcomed guests with brief remarks before the room split into small groups for a hands-on demo and product trial.
Bar Bastion made the preview feel more like an evening out than a product appointment. The Midtown cocktail lounge felt elevated with its tall mirrors, high ceilings, and ambient lighting that suited the sleek product setup. The Braun NEVO logo also appeared on the wall behind the bar and on product displays throughout the space, with the shaver placed on stands.

NEVO was introduced as Braun’s answer to a familiar shaving problem: getting a close shave without irritation. For anyone with sensitive skin, that is usually the trade-off. A closer shave can mean drag, bumps, nicks, or redness, while the more comfortable option often leaves behind stubble. With NEVO, Braun invented the shaver as a way to close that gap.
The demo room gave guests a closer look at how the brand arrived there. The product station showed the shaver, its case, the cleaning system, and the technical features behind the head and handle. Guests were able to test the glide and feel the difference between NEVO and more traditional electric shavers. In person, the device look more premium than expected, with a brushed metal body, black detailing, and a compact case that made it feel more like a precision tool than a bathroom appliance.
One of the best details from the demo was feel of the handle. Our Braun technical expert described NEVO as the first dry shaver in the world made with a single unibody piece of surgical-grade stainless steel. The handle is formed through hydroforming, a process more often associated with automotive and aerospace design. Braun uses high pressure water to form one piece of steel into the handle shape before a laser cuts the body with extreme precision. That process gives NEVO a noticeable difference in the hand. The shaver had weight without feeling bulky. It was solid, smooth, and cleanly made, with no seams or extra pieces interrupting the body.
The foil was the other detail that caught attention. Braun’s AeroTouch technology is designed to give the shaver its smooth glide while still delivering a close shave. Our Braun technical expert explained that the micro-textured foil reduces the contact points between the foil and skin, which helps reduce friction. The foil has 899 unique hole shapes inspired by a dragonfly wing. The smaller holes on top and larger holes along the sides are arranged to help capture different hair types while protecting skin. The design also helps reduce the need to run the shaver over the same area again and again.

After taking NEVO home, that was the first thing I noticed. As someone who prefers a clean shaven face, I am used to electric razors being convenient but not always close enough. NEVO gave a closer shave than the electric razor I usually use, without the tugging or scraping feeling that can make sensitive skin react. The shave was buttery, smooth, and painless, with no nicks, no ingrown hairs, and no irritation afterward.
Over the past week, I kept reaching for it expecting to need another shave, but I did not actually need to use it every day. A face shave every few days was enough to stay clean and smooth. Not only did the result last, but getting ready felt easier because the shave did not require much cleanup. Curious, I also tried it beyond my usual face shave, on my legs and arms. The result was the same: smooth, easy, and painless. For anyone who does laser hair removal, NEVO would be a great in-between tool for staying hairless between sessions without bumps or discomfort.
NEVO also has a Smart Processor that pays attention to beard density in real time, keeping the power consistent whether I had one day of growth or several. It also tracks habits and routines, then gives personalized care feedback without requiring an app or adding another screen to manage. The display also shows battery status, cleaning status, and when the shaver head needs to be changed.
The cleaning system was another part of the preview that felt more useful after trying the product at home. The 7-in-1 Nevo Care System cleans, lubricates, dries, charges, and helps protect blade durability. You just stick it in, press the button, and walk away. The dock handles the upkeep that people usually forget, from cleaning shaving residue to lubricating the cutting elements and charging the device for the next use.

For regular shaving, that takes away one of the most annoying parts of using an electric razor. Maintenance is usually where a grooming tool starts to feel less convenient over time. The care system made the device feel ready without effort. After a week with NEVO, the product felt less like a simple upgrade and more like a better version of the daily shave.
