In a galaxy far far away, well no longer is the Star Wars universe far away thanks to Disneyland expansions.
Last summer Disney announced the introduction a Star Wars themed park expansion for Disneyland and Disney World resorts, and all of this was before the craze stirred by The Force Awakens. After seeing the immense success of the movie Disney confidently aired a sneak peek of the new theme-park venue on their own chancel Disneyland 60. The sneak peek was done in the midst of a tribute to the company’s theme parks. None other than Harrison Ford aka Han Solo, introduced audiences to the new world in the parks.
The sneak peek allowed viewers to see concept art for the park as well introducing a virtual reality addition that lets people fly Millennium Falcon. In total the expansion will be taking over 14 acres of land on both parks, and construction has begun. The theme park addition will take place in a brand new planet from the Star Wars universe and according to the concept art; patrons will get a chance to see what it’s like to live there. The two main rides, one being the Millennium Falcon experience, will allow the public to interact with the Resistance and the First Order.
As the Disney CEO announced, this expansion will be the largest single themed addition to the parks. Ford mentioned in the tribute that he was blessed to have gotten the opportunity to walk the iconic locations, but now fans worldwide will have the chance to walk the same paths. So Star Wars fans and Disney fans unite for an epic adventure that will soon be home in 2017.
