In 2026, conversations around perimenopause are finally moving into the mainstream. Tamsen Fadal, Denise Pines, and Joanne LaMarca Mathinsen push that shift forward with their documentary The (M) Factor 2: Before the Pause. The film brings an informative perspective to perimenopause, the natural phase women experience leading up to menopause — a topic that still isn’t discussed enough in the medical world.
Viewers get a closer look into the realities of perimenopause with guidance from medical professionals in The (M) Factor 2. The documentary serves as a sequel to The (M) Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause, which centers on menopause and the broader conversation surrounding it.
Mathinsen told The Knockturnal that the project represents hope for change for both younger and older generations.
Expressing her sentiment for the film, she said, “This has direct impact on the longevity and the health of women around the world.”
The executive producer continued, “The earlier we recognize the symptoms of perimenopause, the better off — and healthier — we are in the long run.”
The study of perimenopause and menopause goes beyond treating symptoms and extends into women’s overall quality of life. Mathinsen explained that when perimenopausal symptoms are treated, women are happier, able to maintain their jobs, relationships, and mental health.
Women of all ages are encouraged to prepare for perimenopause by staying active and building muscle. “The more you work out in your 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s, and beyond, the better off and stronger you’ll be,” Mathinsen said. Maintaining this balance is especially important to help prevent hip fractures after age 50, which can shorten life expectancy by approximately 30 percent.
Cardiologist Dr. Jayne Morgan also shares her perspective in the documentary, telling The Knockturnal that women should begin preparing for perimenopause as early as possible. “We go through puberty and everybody talks about it — it’s beautiful, there’s this big blossoming,” she explained. “But then nobody talks about perimenopause and menopause. We should actually learn about it alongside puberty.”
While The (M) Factor 2 focuses on advocating for women’s perimenopausal health, Dr. Morgan emphasized the importance of self-advocacy. “If you think that you’re not being seen or heard, you can certainly change physicians — there’s nothing wrong with that,” she said, encouraging women to ask for specific tests and care.
It may come as a surprise to many viewers that physicians often receive little formal training on menopause. Dr. Morgan explained that this gap stems largely from the 2002 Women’s Health Initiative study, which linked certain hormone replacement therapies to increased health risks. The fallout from the study led to widespread hesitation around HRT and a decline in menopause-related medical education.
“We’re still at a point where you may actually know more than your doctor about it,” Dr. Morgan told The Knockturnal.
She hopes that women who watch The (M) Factor 2 gain a better understanding of their bodies and feel empowered to have open conversations about perimenopause.
The (M) Factor 2: Before the Pause premieres March 19 on PBS.
Fans of ‘The Night Manager’ have been captivated by Season 2 since its release on January 1st, and the buzz hasn’t slowed down. The season introduces a couple of new cast members, including Diego Calva as Teddy Dos Santos and Camila Morrone as Roxana Bolaños who bring fresh energy and complex dynamics to the story. Meanwhile, stars including Tom Hiddleston as Jonathan Pine and Olivia Coleman as Angela Burr return to the highly acclaimed series with their signature intensity, bringing depth, wit, and emotional stakes that keep viewers invested in every twist and turn.
Be prepared for spoilers ahead.
Early episodes showcase the newcomers weaving into the existing narrative, adding tension, intrigue, and unexpected twists that keep viewers hooked. From enigmatic figures to high-stakes antagonists, the additions enrich the series while challenging the main characters in surprising ways. With each episode, Season 2 proves it’s delivering both suspense and compelling performances that fans can’t stop talking about.
Calva lets The Knockturnal in on his role as Teddy Dos Santos, the new antagonist of Season 2. Teddy debuts as a dangerous Colombian arms-dealer who’s willing to get his way by any means necessary, bringing a chilling intensity to the show that promises to up the stakes for the main cast.
He tells The Knockturnal “I knew there was a way to play [Teddy Dos Santos] in an easy and cliché way. I’m Mexican and I”m playing a Mexican-Columbian drug lord. I think we’ve all seen that guy.” He explained, “So I tried to do something different and with the help of Georgi [Banks-Davies] we tried to build his character, not from the outside, more from the inside.”
Calva recalled his first assignment as Teddy, which was to find his inner-child, connecting to his trauma and “what he really wants”. It is revealed in the season that the infamous Columbian drug dealer is the son of Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie), and was hidden away in the South American country with his scandalous family. Teddy’s relationship with Roper was an estranged one, resulting in his notably emotionally distant and untrusting personality.
As Calva has become a big part of Season 2, he showcases Teddy’s cleverness to Jonathan Pine’s (Tom Hiddleston) suspicion of him. Calva explained, “There’s a lot of scenes with Tom, where I was kind of learning more about Teddy in the moment we were acting.” He describes the intensity of working alongside Hiddleston, noting that the British actor was often fully in focus while on set.
While fans have waited 10 years for Season 2, the theme of identity and deception, with lot’s of tension remains. Calva tells The Knockturnal, “You never know who is telling the truth. You never know who could you trust. But in the end, I think the core of ‘The Night Manager’ [is that] Jonathan Pine is still there. That’s the spirit, but with more salsa.”
The actor says that viewers can expect “sexy danger” from Teddy Dos Santos in the new season.
The Night Manager is now available on Amazon Prime.
On December 10th, the V Foundation hosted their annual Boo-Yah Gala in NYC. The event sheds light on The Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund, as well as ESPN’s 30 for 30 documentary, Boo-Yah: A Portrait of Stuart Scott, which premiered on ESPN the same day.
V Foundation for Cancer Research has spent more than three decades funding critical cancer research. Founded by NBA basketball player and coach, Jim Valvano, he “turned his own cancer journey into a legacy” by teaming up with ESPN to form the foundation. Valvano’s overall mission was to help save lives from the impact of cancer.
The Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund‘s Boo-Yah event partners with the V Foundation to unite cancer advocates and support growth in research, and simultaneously honors the life of the ESPN sportscaster, who passed away of cancer in 2015.
More specifically, Boo-Yah supports cancer research led by researchers working to address cancer disparities in underserved communities.
President and Executive Director of the V Foundation, Susan Scott, told The Knockturnal, “No one grows up recognizing [that] we need equitable participation in cancer research.” She continued, “That is why the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund within the V Foundation is so critical.”
Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss received the inaugural Stuart Scott IMPACT Award for his support of cancer research and his influence on advancing awareness within the sports community. Moss, a cancer survivor and passionate advocate, discussed his own experience, Scott’s impact, and the importance of supporting marginalized patients.
After a full night of auctioning and winning items, Boo-Yah raised over $3.1 million for disparities in cancer research.
When asked how donors at home can get involved with the V Foundation, President and CEO of ESPN, James Pitaro told The Knockturnal, “They should know that 100% of their contributions go towards research.” He explained, “Just google ‘V Foundation’ and make a donation online. We thank everyone for their amazing support.”
More than $400 million has been raised for the V Foundation, with over $200 million coming from ESPN’s support, according to Pitaro.
Producer and director of the Boo-Yah documentary, Andre Gaines, emphasized the “special resonance” of the night, with the fundraising event and film releasing on the same day.
Supporters can expect a glimpse of who Scott was behind the SportsCenter desk, the challenges he faced with appendiceal cancer, and the impact of his legacy in Boo-Yah: A Portrait of Stuart Scott, which is available on ESPN, the ESPN app and Disney+.
SirDavis American Whisky stopped by The Oculus bearing a gift of an experience on December 12th and 13th. The whiskey brand had Beyoncé fans and enthusiasts alike buzzing about A Signature Pour: The SirDavis Holiday Experience. Guests in NYC were invited to celebrate the brand with cocktail samplings, personalized bottle bands, a photo with the iconic robot from the Cowboy Carter Tour, and a bottle of SirDavis.
Superstar, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, joined Moët Hennessy to bring SirDavis to life in 2024. The singer-songwriter has since promoted her whiskey brand in her Cowboy Carter Tour.
Many have been curious about Beyoncé direction in business ventures, as she promotes her fairly new spirits brand. She told GQ in September 2024, “I’ll never forget the first day I had whiskey. It spoke to me nice. I remember thinking, Why have I never had this before? It was strong and warm, just the right amount of challenge. I loved the process, the ritual of it. Whiskey isn’t something you just shoot down. It’s a commitment. You gotta have patience. I like that.” The singer continued, “And I love the stories that come with it. Every bottle has a history. I also like introducing whiskey to people who don’t know they love it yet. I think a lot more women would love it if they tasted it, and if they were really spoken to by the whiskey world.”
With Beyoncé’s passion for the American award-winning SirDavis, there’s no doubt that her brand has gained the likes of many.
SirDavis’ Holiday Experience provided guests with a taste of their signature cocktails including Sleigh Bell, Espresso Martini, and Honey Bee. Participants also had the opportunity to purchase their very on SirDavis bottle to compliment their personalized band.

From personalized details to immersive moments, the SirDavis Holiday Experience embodied the brand’s bold, intentional spirit. In true Cowboy Carter fashion, SirDavis proved it knows how to leave a lasting impression…especially in New York City.
