Glenlivet’s Distillery Expert, Lisa Glen (who flew in from Scotland just for the event!) and U.S. Brand Ambassador, Jenna Murray, hosted the intimate whiskey-dinner pairing at Zou Zou’s NYC restaurant.
The Midtown Manhattan Location of Hudson Commons, for Cloudy Bay’s wine pairing dinner, was extraordinary – it felt like a picturesque Carrie Bradshaw moment, with everyone dressed up in cocktail attire, sipping on Cloudy Bay’s new Sauvignon Blanc, and being in awe of the beautiful views on the balcony, overlooking the hot pink Empire State Building, and the fitting “New Yorker” Hotel sign right next to it!
Stepping into The HAO Life’s Preview Event was such a magical moment, that it literally took my breath away! The sultry, moody, romantic and antique three-story townhouse that was used for the event, is owned by a very fashionable mystery woman, but I thought to myself, “MTV welcome to my crib,” as I explored the space!
They say, “when you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life,” and that is the exact, motivational sentiment that most of the award recipients touched upon at the podium – having the privilege to do what they love as a career! Star on the Rise Award Recipient, Courtney McLeod stated, “I am a career changer, and I came to design later in life, and I feel so blessed and so grateful to be able to truly do what I love and to actually get paid to do it!”
Walking over to the midtown venue for Melissa de la Cruz’s studio launch, I observed breathtaking views of the bright Empire State Building, and the even brighter full moon above it, and I knew it was the perfect start to a magical evening! I was met with adrenaline-pumped guests, a delicious charcuterie board, and the wonderfully emotional, opening speech from Melissa.
With the success of the foodie’s daydream at Ainslie’s restaurant in Brooklyn, South Village Hospitality Partners, AJ Bontempo, Sergio Riva and Mario Riva have expanded to Manhattan!
Post-NYFW show, Luar’s loyal and excited fans lined up down the block, in the rain (most even without umbrellas!), while waiting patiently to enter the afterparty, and celebrate the brand of the hour-Luar.
Kourtney Kardashian sure did bring her rock n’ roll flare, both clothing and music-wise, for her Boohoo, New York Fashion Week Show!
Emerge Designer Collective I Fashion Designers:
Premya by Manishii, Atelier, Home Of Arti, Garcia Del Castillo, NH Alrabiah, Nahal Shad, Carson Fashion and Laura Lanzerotte.
My favorite designers from the first collective are Premya by Manishii and Garcia Del Castillo! Premya by Manishii had precise stiching of white, black and silver sequins that created movement, patterns and eye-catching sparkle when the light hits. The focus on detail, and exhibiting surprising fashionable risks, was in point. For instance, on what looked like a go-to black womenβs tuxedo, turned into an open back, with swinging black horizontal sequins connecting the top. Another example is what looked like a sequined cocktail dress from below, was paired together with a shiny and formal crop top. Garcia Del Castilloβs show is for bold women who arenβt afraid to have eyes on them in a room! The colorful and neutral dresses with high thigh slits, were all paired with thigh high animal skin boots – bringing the outfit from fashionable to making a statement!
Emerge Designer Collective II Fashion Designers:
Casey Quinn, Vivienne Maestrado, Jasmine Schulte, Shay Anccomsey, Teonna Thornton, and Noelle Small.
My favorite designers from the second collective were Jasmine Schulte and Noelle Small! Jasmine Schulte was my absolute favorite designer from both runways, because the clothes were not just clothes, but rather art! The pieces were delicately crocheted with different colored yarn that created dream-like wood creatures with, long tails and sleeves. Being someone who is always drawn to haute couture, bright colors, textures and artistic concepts, I immediately fell in love with what felt like pieces that belonged in a museum! And I was curious to know how long it took the talented designer to create each look. The young designer is ready to go for the Met Gala, should they ever have a βforest nymph/creature/fairyβ theme, and sign me up as the first client! Fashion Designer Noelle Small is also for clients who want βgo big or go home!β The dresses will make you the βBelle of the Ball,β quite literally, with itβs exquisite Cinderella/ Disney fairy-tale large sleeves, shoulders, and puffy dresses that make a beyond magical moment out of any night in the week, guaranteed!
This is the first time that the notorious Fotografiska New York is showcasing a single-solo artist’s works throughout the whole museum!
