Catherina "Cat" Gioino is a native New Yorker, a huge movie buff and an amateur pizzaiolo. She currently works in transportation policy in New York, and previously was a breaking news reporter for the New York Daily News, and had stints at MSNBC, NY1, PBS and the Queens Gazette-- and was at The Knock since the beginning. When she's not biking around her hometown of Astoria or testing out the train system of another country, you can find her slinging wine and drinks at a friend's local bar.
He’s Frank Underwood. He’s Keyser Soze. He’s John Doe. (Not spoiler alerts– it’s been 20 years, see the movies). He’s Dave Harken. He’s Jonathan Irons. He’s Lex Luthor. But worse of all, he’s Richard Nixon.

CNN will host a six part miniseries come 2016 about six exciting campaigns to become leader of the free world. Produced by Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti, with their Trigger Street Productions (along with Raw Productions), the docu-series will be CNN’s new 2016 original series and will feature unseen footage and interviews with the key people who were involved with those elections.
In a press release by CNN, the president of CNN Worldwide, Jeff Zucker, stated, “We are absolutely thrilled to have Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti bring their world-class talent to CNN. When we created the CNN Original Series brand, this is exactly the type of programming we had in mind and Race for the White House will be the perfect complement to our coverage of the 2016 campaigns and election.”
Narrated by Spacey, each hour long installment will closely follow a campaign to become President of the United States. Considering that Spacey is Frank Underwood on the Netflix series House of Cards, it’s no wonder that CNN would want to show the dirty side of politics. Below are our guesses for the six campaigns:
- Trump v anyone
- Trump v. everyone
- Trump v. Trump
- Trump v. Trump v. wall around Mexico
- Trump v. Trump’s tax records
- Trump v. Trump comb over
All joking aside, we can be be fairly certain that the 2016 campaign will be one of six. The other five? We can only speculate, but:
- Adams v. Jackson (calling dead mothers certain words is a no-no)
- Bush v. Gore v. McCain (the movies are endless but don’t forget the Republican primary)
- Polk v. Clay (The 1844 election where Clay is a commandment breaking adulterer)
- Ford v. Carter v. Anyone (As in a man who was never elected v. a man who won by two points)
- Romney v. Obama v. Republican Primary v. Democratic Primary (no evidence of foul play)
Susan Rockefeller Releases New Documentary ‘Food For Thought, Food For Life’
Food Day hopes to change the diets of Americans and to make better lifestyle choices with over 8,000 events nationwide. The day, which will falls on October 24, is the global awareness of where we get our food and at what costs. Set on answering that question, Susan Rockefeller, who is also a conservationist, has made the documentary Food For Thought, Food For Life.
The 20 minute film, which was selected at Cannes 2015 and the 2015 Sarasota Film Festival, addresses the issues that Americans have with how their food is picked, made, produced and shipped to dinner tables everywhere.
Food Day manager Lilia Smelkova said in a statement, “We are thrilled to partner with Susan Rockefeller on the online release of this remarkable film. By providing our partners at over 8,000 events nationwide with access to the film we can ensure Food Day will impact in even greater ways in 2015.”
Similarly, Rockefeller stated, “It’s an honor to partner with Food and to play a role in helping reach millions about the food issues that affect each one of us.” Rockefeller also made other thought-provoking documentaries including Making The Crooked Straight and A Sea Change. Food For Thought, Food For Life is a production of Rockefeller’s Protect What Is Precious brand that she created in 2013.
