“Put some Windex on it!”
If you don’t quote that line at least twice a day, you’ve seriously done yourself some malice in the funny remarks you could have made. Have a bruise? Windex. Scrape? Windex. Zit on your face on your wedding day? Windex!
Taking that into consideration, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 better have plenty of Windex jokes. That’s right, they’re making a sequel to the 2002 film, with Nanny McPhee director Kirk Jones set to direct. Written by Nia Vardalos, who also wrote and starred in the original, the new movie features a combination of new and returning cast members. John Corbett, Lainie Kazan, Michael Constantine, Andrea Martin, Joey Fattone, Louis Mandylor, Jane Eastwood, Ian Gomez– alright a bunch of people are set to return to the sequel. But they bring along newcomers like Alex Wolff, Elena Kampouris, and some Greek yogurt aficionado named John Stamos. And, Rita Wilson will now star in the sequel, after producing the original.
Premiering on March 25, 2016, the film is to feature the lives of Corbett’s and Vardalos’ characters as they struggle to remain close together while they deal with their ever burgeoning group of Greek relatives (living in a modern and technological world) and raising their teenage daughter.
