Antica Pesa celebrates its birthday on October 18, marking 10 years at the forefront of Roman pastas and dishes in NYC.
The restaurant is known for featuring traditional Roman cuisine in a way that honors each season and tradition. Entering Antica Pesa is like traveling from New York to Rome instantly, and Italian paper La Repubblica deemed it the “Best Roman Restaurant,” among countless other recognitions.
To celebrate the anniversary, Antica Pesa is partnering with Gelateria Gentile to create a limited edition 10th anniversary gelato. The result is a ricotta with coffee, cherry, and chocolate flavor, which is a spin on the traditional Roman “Crostata ricotta e visciole,” which is a popular pastry made throughout homes in Rome. The gelato is available at all Gentile NYC locations and Antica Pesa in both Brooklyn and Rome.
National Pasta Day is October 17. The restaurant will be serving pasta classics such as Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe, Rigatoni All’Amatriciana, and Paccheri Al Pomodoro Fresco. These stellar dishes are on the menu all year round. Many other delicious specials, dishes, and desserts will also be available to celebrate Antica Pesa’s 10 year anniversary.
Reflecting on the last 10 years, Antica Pesa has developed into a defining staple in Brooklyn, beckoning Madonna, Tom Hardy, Richard Gere, and many others to come enjoy the wonderful experience that is Antica Pesa.
We recently attended a delectable tasting at the restaurant. The Insalata Vignarola was an excellent way to kick off the meal. The sweet and sour red onions were a fantastic complement to the mesclun, green peas, fava beans, Roman artichokes and more.
Next up, we sampled the Crudo E Bufala Crocccante. I have been to many Italian restaurants, but have never had a dish like this. It consists of a baked filo dough-wrapped buffalo mozzarella with prosciutto di Parma. It was so tasty!
This is the vegetarian version of the same dish.
For our pasta course, we were given a half portion of Rigatoni All’Amatriciana and Spagetti Cacio Pepe! Both were so delicious and filling.
As an eggplant fanatic, I absolutely loved this Melanzana dish. The Stracciatella cheese was perfection.
For our final course, we sampled the Tiramisu and Cannoli’s. We recommend both, when you stop in!
Antica Pesa is a can’t miss dining experience in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It is a great date night spot, has amazing ambiance and the service is excellent. We felt like we were transported to Rome during our tasting. Happy birthday!
