On Tuesday, September 24, I had the pleasure of attending an exclusive, one-of-a-kind event at Hester Room (119 Hester Street, NYC), in collaboration with Desolas Mezcal.
The night was a perfect blend of curated tastes, textures, and vibrations, offering a sanctuary of calm amidst the bustling New York City streets.
As I approached Hester Room, the lively energy of the city filled the air, but once I stepped inside, I was immediately transported to a serene and thoughtfully designed space. The décor created a calming, loft-like atmosphere that provided a welcome escape from the outside chaos, setting the tone for the evening’s immersive experience.
The star of the night was Desolas Mezcal, a spirit crafted with meticulous care from 100% Salmiana Agave, known as the “green giant.” This artisanal mezcal hails from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and its fresh, botanical aroma paired beautifully with each of the handcrafted cocktails served throughout the evening. Among the expertly crafted drinks, the pineapple-flavored Desolas cocktail stood out as my favorite. Its herbal notes were invigorating and refreshing, perfectly complementing the carefully selected culinary pairings.
Accompanying the mezcal were unforgettable chicken tacos, each bite packed with flavor and made with clear attention to detail. Every taco felt like it had been made with love, further enriching the sensory experience of the evening. Adding a sweet finale to the night were the uniquely inspired ice cream flavors from Kinky Scoops.
