Comedian Charlie Murphy has died at age 57.
Charlie Murphy was an American comedian, actor and writer. He is most famously known for his work on Comedy Central’s The Chappelle Show, where he was a cast member and a writer. The elder Murphy was fighting a battle with Leukemia and died this past Wednesday at 57.
He is commonly known for his Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories skit that featured appearances from Rick James and Prince.
Charlie was a man of many talents and has an extensive career resume. He appeared in films such as Jungle Fever, Harlem Nights, Roll Bounce, The Cookout 2 and more. He also did voiceovers for cartoons and movies. His voice is featured on shows like The Boondocks, Black Dynamite, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and many more. His writing contributed to the development of Norbit, Vampire in Brooklyn and Paper Soldiers.
