Phenomenal producer and musician Flume took over Forest Hills Stadium this past Saturday and boy did he deliver a concert!

The long awaited concert finally arrived. Flume played for his biggest audience yet at the stadium. Forest Hills Stadium has hosted big names the whole summer such as Disclosure, Mumford & Sons, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, amongst others and Flume was the second to last to play in this cool open air space.IMG_3743

The evening started out with opening acts Ryan Hemsworth, DJ Chrome and SHLOMO playing. It all began at 5 but it wasn’t until about 20 mins before Flume arrived that it looked like a sold out house. As the sun started to set, attendees enjoyed some beers, refreshments and socialized with each other. Some were sitting on the floor talking, others were already preparing for Flume’s arrival as they swayed to the music.

It wasn’t until 8:30 pm, the beginning of Flume’s set that the event really took off. After a blackout, the bright stage lights finally came on and a combination of sounds began to play slowly louder and louder. The crowd shouted more and more, trying to overcome the sounds playing so the producer could hear their calling. The suspense of his entrance could not have been better. As these sounds increased, so did everyone’s eager. It was such a tease, such a rush for Flume to finally take over the covered stage. As the sounds got to their peak the black curtain dropped and the beautifully decorated stage was uncovered with attractive  Australian Flume right in the middle of it. I have not in a long time heard an audience as loud as the one from this night!

The set was simple but incredible! As graphics played in the background, lighted cubes hung from the ceiling and changed color according to the beat of the music. The combination of graphics, stage design and stage lights created such a euphoric atmosphere and enhanced Flume’s breathtaking mixes. His first song was “Holding On.” Most of the audience knew it by heart. The audience however went crazy when he later played his hits “Never Be Like You” ft. Kai and “Say It” ft. Tove Lo, to which fans not only sang along to but yelled out to the point that they overrode the blasting speakers.

As one looked out to the completely filled stadium, one could see arms in the air and smiles all around. The happiness and love for Flume’s music could be felt in the air. A few girls brought over lighted hoola-hoops and danced during the show, which just bettered the whole atmosphere.

Wearing the white Forest Hills Stadium cap and shorts, Flume thanked his audience throughout the night, showing his appreciation for the love and support he has received. In return, he allowed everyone to have a great time as he played his most famous songs such as “Insane”, “Sleepless”, “Lose It”, “Helix”,“Take A Chance”, “You & Me” remix and closed with “Tiny Cities”.

Flume absolutely killed it! We can’t wait for more of his incredible tunes to come out!
