On Wednesday, February 3rd, MILK Gallery threw a cocktail party in honor of CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists Baja East and Cadet collaborating with the Italian wool mill Reda. The collaboration will feature the wool from Reda in both designers’ collections for Spring/Summer 2017 and Winter 2017.
In addition to the collaboration, the event also celebrated the 150th anniversary of Reda with an exhibition taken on by five Magnum photographers. The exhibition recounted “the past, present, and the specificity of Reda” while allowing five different lenses and styles to emerge. The images were all of documentary photography, yet had their own take on the subject whether the photographer chose to focus on landscapes, sheep, and machinery.
Also in attendance at the event was Baja East (John Targon, Scott Studenberg), Cadet (Brad Schmidt, Raul Arevalo), Eric Rutherford, Emily Weiss, Bruce Pask, Barrett Pall, Moti Ankari, Mustafa Kacar, Ercole Botta and Fern Mallis.
This week, Amazon, CFDA, Conde Nast Entertainment & Vogue celebrated the Season Premiere of The Fashion Fund at the Morgan Library & Museum. On February 25th, Amazon will premiere the third season of the associated CVFF docu-series TheFashion Fund, an Amazon unscripted series, produced by Annie Sundberg and Ricki Stern of Break Thru Films. In conjunction with the season premiere, Amazon Fashion will launch a content-rich, dedicated retail experience to provide viewers and consumers alike with the opportunity to shop the Spring 2016 collections from this year’s CVFF finalists.
