Karl Lagerfeld announced his new ready-to-wear and accessories children’s collection will premier on Melijo.com.
Opting to forgo a runway, Lagerfeld’s partnership with the retailer now allows shoppers to pre-order the items from the new spring/summer debut collection. The new collections is centered around the designer and his cat Choupette.
The feline pops up on several items in different embroideries and prints. Despite the petite sizing, Lagerfeld still keeps his wit and style within the clothes. For the older end of the range there are tees and sweatshirts in varying colors. There are also a variety of jeans and skirts and iconic black blazer and crisp white shirt.
On the other side of the spectrum, Lagerfeld manages to make layettes chic with a with complete sets of bonnets, bibs and booties. The collection gets even cuter with hats donned with cat ears and whiskers, fingerless gloves, ballerina flats and miniature handbags.
Choupette, being the star of the show, also can be found within Melijo.com. Her animated form will be hopping around from one item to the next, from within a rain boot or even under a stylish hat.
Choupette will also be featured in four videos exclusive to the site. The videos will mix film with 2D animation with the cat wreaking havoc on fashion shows and Lagerfeld’s laptop and work desk.
More surprises are sure to pop up, and in the meantime the collection is able to preorder now. Orders will begin being shipped out in December.
