In Manson Family Vacation, we are introduced to two brothers who are completely opposite from each other.

Nick (Jay Duplass) is a polished, well-dressed and well-spoken man. He is an established lawyer with a wife and kids. On the other hand, we have Conrad, the other brother. Conrad (Linas Phillips) is a frustrated artist who gave up his artistic endeavors to work for an “environmental organization”. Conrad is adopted, and is a bit more on the scruffy side of things as it pertains to physical appearance, and lifestyle choices. In character, he is an enthusiastic and, carefree soul.

As the movie goes on, viewers are given a backstory that explains why the brothers do not get along too well most of the time. In an effort to change that, Conrad travels all the way to Los Angeles to visit Nick. He initiates a bonding trip with Nick that revolves around touring Charles Manson’s murder sites. As expected, Nick is reluctant, paranoid, and uptight about indulging in such an activity. However, in the name of making his brother happy, he gives in. As they embark on the Charles Manson adventure, Conrad’s bizarre obsession with the Manson controversy is revealed through house break ins and brotherly fights. In the end, viewers learn the huge secret behind Conrad’s unusual fixation, and get closure on the brotherly relationship.

Comprehensively, Manson Family Vacation fairly celebrates Charles Manson in his entirety. Throughout the movie, interview clips of him are seen, and belongings are continuously cited. Manson Family Vacation can be identified as a movie that underlines an introduction to Manson’s reputation as it is indeed, enlightening for individuals who are not familiar with the story.

The film is coming to Netflix October 27.
